Photo MovieTheater and E.M. Free DVD Photo Slideshow are software all developed by eTinysoft.Inc. They are all HD photo slideshow maker software. As we can see from their names, the main difference between them is one is a shareware and the other is freeware. As to other functions, I would like to analyze it from the following aspects.
1.The interface of the two software: At the first sight, you must say they have the same interface. Actually, they have difference in each window. And the big difference is the “Publish” window. In Photo MovieTheater, there are many output formats buttons to be chosen. However, we can only choose DVD in E.M. Free DVD Photo Slideshow. There has DVD burn introduction Demo in E.M. Free DVD Photo Slideshow, not in Photo MovieTheater.
2.The functions of the two software: To be honest, I consider E.M. Free DVD Photo Slideshow is simplified from Photo MovieTheater. Many functions of the two software are the same. But the Photo MovieTheater is much powerful than E.M. Free DVD Photo Slideshow. Firstly, Photo MovieTheater can make picture slideshow from images and video clips with abundant transitions and effects, nevertheless, E.M. Free DVD Photo Slideshow only has little transitions and I think these transitions are the worst ones in Photo MovieTheater. Secondly, Photo MovieTheater support more than 50 output formats including AVCHD, WMV, MJPEG AVI, 3GP, MP4, SWF, MKV, etc. E.M. Free DVD Photo Slideshow only free support DVD output format.
3.The usage of the two software: They are all slideshow maker software. If you only want to turn photos to video and burn them on DVD to share them on TV or DVD player or just have a fun with your images, E.M. Free DVD Photo Slideshow is the best choice, I think. If you want to make professional slideshow for wedding, birthday party, graduation shows, etc. Photo MovieTheater will be better for its variety transitions and output format. Of course, you need to pay $35.95

The following are my views about the two software. All in one, if you are looking for that kind of software, the two are nice choice. In fact, there are also other software can make slideshow, such as Windows Movie Maker, Microosoft Photo Storys and so on.
